The municipality of Encío (45 inhabitants in 2009; 1,876 ha) is located in the Burgos Province. The municipality is made of the villages of Encío (capital), Moriana and Obarenes.

The flag and arms of Encío are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 25 October 2004 by the Municipal Council, signed by the Mayor on 30 November 2004 and published on 17 February 2005 in the official gazette of Castile and Leon, No. 33, p. 2,880. The symbols are described as follows:
Municipal flag: Castillan [square] tierced the top red (heraldic gules) and the body white, flanked at hoist blue (heraldic azure) and at fly yellow, in the middle the municipal coat of arms of Encío, with a Royal crown closed.Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Azure an hermitage argent, 2. Vert a tower argent masoned sable the door azure, Mantled in base argent a centaur proper holding dexter a sword sable. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.
