The municipality of Navarredondilla (231 inhabitants in 2014; 2,027 ha; unofficial website) is located in the south of the Province of Ávila, 30 km of Ávila.

Navarredondilla was known until the late 17th century as Navarredonda. nava, a word of Hebrew origin, means "a place with good pastures", while redonda / redondilla (roundish) refers to the shape of the municipal territory. The village belonged to the abbey of Burgohondo until the suppression of the feudal system; whether the village was founded by the abbey is not known.
