Introduction

In the province of Alicante, there are several municipalities that have a monocoloured flag with the municipal coa in the center. Calp (Spanish: Calpe, 23,60 kmē and 28.000 hab.) is a municipality in the comarca of Marina Alta in the Valencian Community.

"[E]l escudo municipal es: de sinople, una torre de oro surmontada de un arco y dos flechas en aspa de lo mismo; bordura de plata con la leyenda "MUY HEROICA VILLA" en letras capitales negras; va timbrado de corona de barón."

"[T]he municipal coat of arms is: sinople a tower or [obviously wrong] surmounted by a bow and two arrows in saltire of the same; bordure silver with the legend "MUY HEROICA VILLA" in black capital letters; above, a baronial coronet."

Unidentified Flag

Personal observation: when I was younger, I saw in a hotel in Calpe the usual flags, but I saw a green and white horizontal bicolor flag, which I never knew what belonged to, but it's a coincidence that these are the colors of the local shield.
