Argent, a millwheel Gules.
Meaning:
Mühldorf upon Inn is the capital and seat of the county and uses old arms; the first seal probably dates back to 1290, already showing the canting symbol of the millwheel ("Mühle" is mill). It is known by prints from 1317 and displayed a wheel with 16 paddles in a field fretty. All later seals until the 17th century, especially a secret seal from the 14th century, displayed the wheel with eight paddles. The city had been an exclave of the Archbishopric of Salzburg in Bavarian territory. The tinctures are known since 1530. In the 19th century the whiel occasionally had been blue.

The arms are in use since the end of the 13th century. They were confirmed in 1507 by the Salzburgian Archbishop Leonhard of Keutschach.
