Coat of Arms

[Wunstorf city CoA] image by Jarig Bakker, 26 Aug 2008

In blue with a silver castle open, golden gates and two towers with pitched roofs, of which the right square and decorated with a quatrefoil, the left round and two windows. Between the towers is a border, crowned, golden lion with red tongue, only with the hind legs the battlements of the wall untouched.
Justification: The left tower with embattled wreath and four passport window indicates the city or market church tower, the right with the high and narrow arched openings opposed to the collegiate church. This is expressed that city pen and pave the way for today's Wunstorf. The lion on the Peaks is the symbol of the Earl of Roden-Wunstorf, once the jurisdiction exercised in the city.
The coat of arms, according to a State Archives Hanover existing print of the label "Burgensium in Wunstorpe" from the year 1311 and replace the design until 1957, guided emblem of Wunstorf."

Bokeloh Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Vert a churn Argent with pestle and fixation Or, at sinsiter Argent, a branch of three beech leaves Vert, in base hammer and mallet Sable.
Meaning:
The churn is alluding to the fact taht the region was historically called butter-district (German: Butteramt), as the local farmers were well known for their butter on the markets in Hannover and Wunstorf. The beech leaves are canting, as the name of the borough means "beech land parcel". Hammer and mallet are alluding to local salt mining. Bokeloh was incorporated into Wunstorf on 1 March 1974. The flag probably has never been approved officially.
