Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a blue field are three silver (= white) seagulls with upright wings flying to the dexter side.
Meaning:
According to source the seagulls are symbolizing the former municipalities of Brunshaupten, Arendsee and Fulgen, from which the city was built in 1938. The name of the city literally means "fountain in the cooling". The latter was the name of a hague, giving shadows to the locals. This hague today is just in the middle of the city. The blue colour, although having a celestial shade, is symbolizing the Baltic Sea.
