Bondorf Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
On the base of a silver (= white) shield is a red triple mount. Each of its peaks is topped by a green ear of spelt.
Meaning:
The first appearance of the three ears without(?) triple mount was within a map, painted by Christian Maier, a local surveyor in 1818, while the seals of the 19th and 20th century still displayed the three attires of Württemberg. I have found no information about the triple mount, but spelt is a special kind of barley, used by local breweries as a base for excellent beers. And the green colour is probably alluding to the so called "green seed", which is unripe spelt grain. Due to the heavy rainfalls in the area the farmers had no chance to harvest the spelt properly. Thus it was cut unripe and afterwards desiccated.
