About the Flag of Lucas do Rio Verde

This flag shows the state map in a green field, with the municipality seal inside. The city is located in the exact center of the state, is one of the biggest agrobusiness centers (one of Brazil's biggest producer of corn, cotton and soybean: 1.5 million metric tons per year). The municipality has good social indicators, like almost of population literate, high human development index and high rich per capita (US$ 15,000 per person).

The flag of Lucas de Rio Verde, designed by José Sales Luna de Souza, is prescribed by Law No. 81, adopted in 1990. The flag is made of a green rectangle. In the middle is placed a white map of Mato Grosso outlined in blue, symbolizing peace. In the middle of the map is placed a disc whose upper half is a sun symbolizing the localization of the municipality in Mato Grosso and whose lower half a representation of Rio Verde ("Green River") and green leaves symbolizing agriculture.

Note: The emblem in the middle of the flag is not the official municipal coat of arms.
