Fojnica is well-known by heraldists since in the Fojnica Franciscan monestary has preserved a 15th century armorial that is one of the most important sources for the medieval heraldry and genealogy of the South-Eastern Europe.

Flag of Fojnica

The symbols of Fojnica are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Fojnica (text), adopted on 30 July 2003 by the Municipal Assembly.
The symbols are described in the Municipal Statutes Statut Općine Fojnica, adopted on 28 August 2008 by the Municipal Assembly and published on 15 October 2008 in the Municipal official gazette Službene novine Općine Fojnica, No. 4 (text).

The flag is white with the coat of arms in the middle.
