Comments on the arms:

A 'Schwarzenberg' is a black mount, and a 'Böhmerwald' is a Bohemian wood, which can be symbolized by a Bohemian glas on a green field.
Ivan Sache, 17 January 2004

More precisely, Böhmerwald is the German name for the forested highlands separating Bavaria and Austria from Bohemia (I believe that the Czech name is Sumava). Glassmaking is practiced on all sides of the border; the appearance of a glass in the arms of Schwarzenberg would suggest that the municipality has a glassmaking industry. (For an example on the German side, see Regen county.
