Description of the flag

There were 75 flag proposals. The winning flag design won by 43.32% of all votes. The winning flag designer was Hernan Palacio.
Aleksandar Nemet, 13 Apr 2010

The flag of the District of Coronel Suárez features in the middle a willow ["sauce"], the characteristic symbol of the municipality, whose original name was Sauce Corto. The willow furthermore symbolizes the capital of the district, surrounded by the eight other settlements of the district (Huanguelén, Santa María, San José, Santa Trinidad, Villa Arcadia, Pasman, Cascada and Curumalán), each represented by a Federal star.

Green is a symbol of hope and represents the immensity of the fields. In the upper part is the celestial sky, which, together with the white pane located in the center, conveys a notion of Argentine identity. The green and blue panels also refer to the flag of the Buenos Aires Province, to which the district belongs.
