Flag of the First Republic of Armenia

The flag of the first Republic of Armenia (1918-1921) was horizontally divided red-blue-orange, in proportions 2:3. The same flag was reestablished in 1990, but with proportions 1:2.

The arms of the first Republic of Armenia were essentially the same as the current arms, but the artistic rendering was very different.
The black and white version of he arms shown above comes from the Historical Atlas of Armenia (Hayastani patmakan atlas) published in New York by the Armenian National Education Committee (1987). Notice that the items under the shield are placed differently than on the current version, that the shield is different, and that the eagle and lion have their tongues out and look more menacing.
The colored version of the arms shown above comes from a map entitled "Flags, Coats of Arms and Monuments of Armenia". Notice that the emblems on the shield are more colorful than on the current version, that the quarters' colors are reverted and that the eagle is silver, not golden. eagle. There is, or once was, an Armenian-American Silver Eagle Award, so it seems that the color here is not random.

Nationalist Armenian flag

The nationalist Armenian flag designed by Father Ghevont Alishan was vertically divided red-green-blue. It was inspired by the French national flag. Crampton [cra90] shows a picture of such a miniature flag. The word ARMENIA written in white on the flag from lower hoist to upper fly does not seem to be part of the flag.
I also saw those colours on a decorative licence plate: an unidentified badge on white, with vertical stripes on each side: blue-red-green and green-red-blue.
