The flag of Gölcük (photo, photo) is white with the municipality's emblem. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".

The cog wheel, a conventional representation of industry, must stand for the Ford Otosan car manufacturing plant.
The Gölcük Plant, opened in 2001, has been Transit model's lead manufacturing plant in the world since 2004. This is where the production of Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom, the light commercial vehicle versions that have been very successful, particularly in the European market, commenced in 2012. Ford Otosan's Gölcük plant is the only global production base for Custom models. Spread on a total area of 1,600,000 square meters, including 340,000 square meters of indoor space, the Gölcük Plant provides Ford Otosan a logistical advantage with its own port, and proximity to its supplier base.

The flag of the Gölcük City Council (photo, photo) is white with the council's emblem. "Kent Konseyi" means "City Council".

The anchor featured on the emblem undoubtedly represents the Gölcük Naval Base (and shipyard), the main base of the Turkish Navy on the east coast of the Sea of Marmara. On 17 August 1999, the Kocaeli / İzmit earthquake and the resulting tidal wave killed some 25,000 people. The Naval Base, which is, unfortunately, built on the North Anatolian fault, sustained major damages; more than 200 seamen, officers and civil personal were killed.
