About the flag

The graphic manual for the municipality of Eksjö in Sweden shows the flag of the municipality, correctly as a banner of arms, at page 15: http://www.eksjo.se/content/download/6538/35189/file/Grafisk_manual.pdf

Correctly yes, but very grudgingly as the designers’ team was concerned, I bet. Notice how everything is neat and detailed while the flag is shown as a grainy (doctored) photo.
António Martins-Tuválkin, 17 February 2010

The arms were granted on 25 of February, 1949, to be precise. The same arms were later registered in 1974 according to new legal rules for the protection of Swedish municipal arms, after the municipal reform of 1974 (which reduced the number of municipalities considerably). The arms allude to the name of the municipality, Eksjö means Oak Lake.
