Coat of arms

Shield Vert with base wavy of Argent and Azure between two flasques Sable, each one charged with a branch of chestnut Or, a pair of keys Or tied Gules in saltire. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "VILA DE S. PEDRO DE CASTELÕES"
Meaning:
The keys are an atrribute of St. Peter, local patron saint and name giver of the commune.
