Presentation of Vilarinho de Agrochão

Vilarinho de Agrochão Commune is one of the 30 communes of Macedo de Cavaleiros Municipality; it had 235 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 13.8 km². The word "vilarinho" is an miniaturisation of "vilar", meaning roughly "settlement" (usually a village without its own church), and "do" means "of the". The word "agrochão" is the juxtaposition of what ultimately derives from Latin "ager" ("tilled field") and "planum" ("plain", "flat ground"). None of these toponimical meanings is shown in the arms.
