Presentation

The Province of Chepén is in the Region of La Libertad, Peru. It has area of 287.34 km² and population of 68,147 (in 2002).
Valentin Poposki, 28 May 2007

Description of the flag

Supposed diameter of the seal is half the flag’s height, and supposed ratio is 2:3.
António Martins, 12 Jul 2007

The flag of the province is blue with coat of arms (more like seal) in its center. The pictures of the flag and the coat of arms at the official website are not very good. As far as I can understand, the flag was adopted in 1986.
Valentin Poposki, 28 May 2007

The flag of Chepén was adopted in 1986 by the Provincial Council presided by Alcalde Don Walter Quesquén Terrones. It is made of a celeste blue field with the provincial coat of arms in the middle.

Emblem

This coat of arms is more like a seal.
Valentin Poposki, 28 May 2007

In 1984, the province of Chepén was created. Alcalde Cristian Díaz Prado requested the design of a coat of arms, based on ideas proposed by Councillor Don Joe Medina Astudillo . The coat of arms was designed by Don Segundo Ruiz.
Ivan Sache, 02 Jun 2007

It shows a map of the province (with dots for Chepén, Pacanga and Pueblo Nuevo, but not Talambo, the fourth district of this province) on wheat and maize ears tied with a ribbon patterned after the Peruvian national flag on a light blue disc (seemingly lighter than the flag background). This is encllosed in a red and white rim, divided per saltire in four quarters, reading the motto «Generosa y Viril» («Generous and Manly»!) at the top, «Provincia de Chepén» at the bottom, «Ley 23910» on the left and «8 Set. 1984» on the right, all in bold serif capitals, white on red (top and bottom) and black on white (left and right).

A photo at the official website shows a plain blue flag flying along the national flag of Peru in what seems to be an official location.
