Coat of Arms

[COA of Tromøy]image by Tomislav Šipek, 14 January 2016

Delt av sølv og blått ved skysnitt. In English: Per fess nebully argent and azure.
Approved by the royal resolution of 23 August 1985 after a drawing bys Anne Marie Falck. [c2j87]
As Heraldry of the World states: "The arms show the sea and the coastline near the village, which is characterised by large rounded boulders dating from the ice age. The division line in the arms is symbolising these boulders."
The arms are also canting, since Trom (Þroma) means edge, rim or curb - that the boulders make.
