Coat of Arms

[COA of Aremark]image by Tomislav Šipek, 24 December 2015

Blazon: I sølv to blå elger i skrå rekke venstre høyre. Argent two moos azure passant to dexter in bend sinister.
Approved by the Government resolution of 7 November 1986 (as the legislation speaks on royal resolutions when the king is heading the council, and crown prince-regent's resolutions when he is acting in king's stead - I guess the "Regjeringens resolusjon" is made when none of the two were present. [c2j87] writes of royal resolution nevertheless) after a drawing by Stein Davidsen. [c2j87]
Moose hunting was important for municipal life, and the choice for the design was only natural. Since the Ringsaker municipality already used a moose, Aremark adopted two of them.
