Langweer

The manufacturer at https://www.mastenenvlaggen.nl/product/dorpsvlag-langweer has developed a concept flag for Langweer. It is derived from the village coat of arms, which dates from 1991. The proposed flag is green with a white wavy stripe across its entire width that represents the common water in the area surrounding the village. The green color refers to the occurrence of ponds near the states (large defensible homes) with islands. These ponds were intended for swans. The three swans refer to the twelve farms in the village area that were entitled to swan drift, an exclusive form of poultry farming in which swans are kept and traded.
