Symbolism

From the city website:

The City Flag

The flag has an "M" in the middle surrounded by concepts of nature, humanity and traditions. The green color symbolizes the mountains and nature surrounding Mungyeong, red symbolizes the citizens, and blue symbolizes the traditional atmosphere of Mungyeong. The 'road' between the gate and mountain symbolizes the bright future of Mungyoeng that is striving to grow into a central city of Korea in the 21st century.

Phil Nelson, 8 October 2005
