Located in Nissin City Aichi Prefecture and established in 1988. The embroidered ceremonial flag has blue background with a gold and silver emblem and horizontally written gold English university name with gold fringe. The university flag has white background with a blue and white emblem. The university emblem was adopted on April 1, 1988, when the university was founded. The circle represents the earth, and the initials NUFS (Nagoya University of Foreign Studies) are placed within the circle. The magnetic force generated from the north and south NS poles of the earth forms three concentric circles, representing the English (British and American), French, and Chinese languages of the university's departments. The design symbolically expresses the educational goal of the university, which aims to nurture human resources who can look at the world with a clear eye and play an active role on the international stage.
