Description

Regional Council Nahal Soreq is situated in the south plain, east to Gadera. City hall at Yad-Benyamin. Est. 1950. Pop: 2,500 in four settlements of the Zionist-Religious movements. (...) The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot, Yalkut ha-Pirsumim), YP 633, 13 November 1958. Mrs. Nirit Kena, Regional Council spokeswomen, notified me that the Regional Council uses only white flags with blue emblem. When the emblem is used alone (not on flags) the diagonal scroll in the middle of it is in silver.

Today I visited Regional Council Nahal Soreq (situated in Yad-Benyamin, a on Rd. 3 next to Hwy 6 interchange) - The flags is the same as reported.

As seen from the photo that I took at the city hall, the flag is indeed a blue emblem on white. However, my image iabove is incomplete as there are inscription above the emblem: Mo'atza Ezorit (Regional Council) in semi-circle and below it Nahal Soreq.
More photos of the flag at <www.ma-soreq.org.il/polin-054.jpg> and desk flag at <www.ma-soreq.org.il/Image0226.jpg>.
Nahal Soreq (Soreq - biblical term for choice vine, Nahal - small river, stream) is a 70kms long stream going from Jerusalem Mounts to the Mediterranean Sea and appeared in the bible as Delilah home region (Judges 16,4).
The Regional Council govern 5 communities: Bene Re'em, Yad Benyamin, Bet Hilqiya, Hafetz Hayyim, Yesodot.

In the emblem we can find grapes (for the name) Menorah and scroll (for the religious character of the Regional Council) and village view (for their agriculture character).
