Description of the flag

A very dark green flag, with an outer ring consists of 42 overlapping elements (shells? a rope?), and an inner ring of 14 stars pointing inwards and in the centre a mound-shaped feature (mountain? octopus?)

Flag seen by FIAV President Mr. Michel Lupant who visited the island in Aug 2009 after ICV23.

I've lived on Weno; there are several steep rises on the island which were used by various occupying military forces for lighthouses, lookouts, and weaponry. The image on the flag, which you describe as either a mountain or an octopus is actually both. On the island is a small "mountain" which is visible from Nepakos, the largest municipality. The natives call this mountain "The octopus" because of its shape and that the trees growing down the side look like tentacles. I've attached a picture here.
