Municipal flags in the Province of Huelva

The Province of Huelva is divided into 79 municipalities, which all have a flag of their own.
In 1994, the Provincial Council commissioned the Provincial Directorate of Archives to set up a plan of legal adoption of municipal symbols. Officially hired, the heraldist Juan José Antequera Luengo proposed brand new or "rehabilitated" symbols for most municipalities - some had already adopted their symbols, while other rejected the offer or the proposed designs. Completed in 1998, the process culminated on 26 February (the Day of Andalusia) 1999, when each municipality was offered a copy of its flag.

The chronology of the official registration of the flags is the following. An asterisk labels the 42 flags designed by Juan José Antequera; some of them were registered years after their adoption and inauguration, usually because of procedural issues.
