Flag of the Province of Córdoba

The flag (photo, photo, photo, photo, photo) and arms of the Province of Córdoba, approved on 17 December 2008 by the Provincial Council and submitted on 27 January 2009 to the Directorate General of the Local Administration, are prescribed by a Resolution adopted on 4 February 2009 by the Directorate General of the Local Administration and published on 16 February 2009 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 31, pp. 62-63 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag, one and a half longer than high, of purple colour. In the middle the provincial coat of arms with proper crown, the size of the shield, from the crown to the base being 1/2 of the hoist and the other dimensions made proportional.
Coat of arms: Argent a lion rampant gules (red). Border compony of the Royal arms of Castile and Leén, the crowns being removed from the lions. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed. The shape of the shield shall be Spanish modern, that is oblong and rounded-off in base, of 6 units in height (from top to base) and 5 units in width (from dexter to sinister edges).
