It is a white - red vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted to the top and crowned by a castle with three towers in the colours black and ochre (Stefan Schwoon describes it as a mural crown). Beneath the shield is a centred, grey inscription "HORB"(1st line) "a.N."(2nd line, smaller).

Horb Coat of Arms

The shield is divided per fess into silver (= white) over red.
Meaning:
Horb gained city rights in the 13th century from the Palatine Counts of Tübingen, former rulers of the area. In 1305 the city became a possession of the Counts of Hohenberg, in 1381 of Austria and in 1806 of Württemberg. Since 1308 the divided shield of silver and red appears on the seals, displaying the colours of Hohenberg.

The flag colours were reported by Stoob (1962) and Stadler (1971). Horb, Haigerloch and Rottenburg upon Neckar have the same proper symbols.
