Berlingerode Coat of Arms

The shield is red. A silver, sinister-bendy axe is splitting an oak stomp of the same with one leaf. In dexter chief is a silver, 6-spokes wheel.
Meaning:
The wheel is alluding to the Archbishops of Mainz, the former rulers. All other elements are canting, especially related to the suffix "-rode ", denoting settlements created by forest clearance.
