The flag and arms of Santo Cristo are prescribed by Municipal law No. 639 promulgated on 9 October 1978.

Article 2.
The coat of arms of the municipality has the following description.
A Portuguese shield horizontally divided into two stripes, the upper, azure (blue), and the lower vert (green), charged in the center with a map of the municipality or (gold) shaped in the center like a book. In chief a white Cross of Christ; in base, dexter a white pig sinister a white bovine. The shield supported dexter by two wheat spikes and a soybean pod or and sinister by a maize plant and a soybean pod or and vert.
Beneath the shield a scroll vert inscribed "1910 Santo Cristo 1955", the dates of foundation of emancipation of the municipality.
The shield surmounted by a three-towered mural crown or.
The arms represent the municipal territory under the sky; the book recalls that Santo Cristo is among the communities in the state with the highest rate of alphabetization. The bovine, the pig, wheat, maize and soybean symbolize the municipality's strong source of income, agriculture and cattle-breeding. The Cross of Christ symbolizes the population's religious feeling and faith, family values.

Article 4.
The flag of Santo Cristo has for colors blue, green and white, arranged in four rectangles; a white rectangle in the upper inner angle, a blue rectangle in the upper outer angle, and two green rectangles in the lower angles, separated from each other and from the blue rectangle by a white stripe, representing:
a) Blue, the immense horizons under the celestial vault, as well as people's love and understanding.
b) White, a message of peace for a better fraternity between peoples.
c) Green, manpower as an element of social evolution of mankind, and the municipality's abundant vegetation.

Article 5.
The flag's features shall obey the following.
I. The flag's width shall be 12 units.
II. The flag's length shall be 18 units.
III. The white rectangle shall be 6 units in the vertical dimension and 5 units in the horizontal dimension, and charged in the center with the coat of arms of the municipality of 4 units in width.
IV. The blue rectangle shall be 13 units in the horizontal dimension and 5 units in the vertical dimension.
V. The green rectangles are:
- the one located in the lower inner angle, 4 units in the horizontal dimension and 6 units in the vertical dimension
- the one located in the lower outer angle, 13 units in the horizontal dimension and 6 units in the vertical dimension.
VI. The vertical white stripe separating the two green rectangles shall be 1 unit in width and 6 units in length, the horizontal stripe shall be of 1 unit in width and 13 units in length.
