Municipality

The municipality of Lagos de Três Cantos (1,649 inhabitants in 2016; 13,864 ha) is located 300 km of Porto Alegre.

Lagos de Três Cantos was established around 1800 by German colonists who settled near a triangular lake used by the travelers as a landmark - and still the town's landmark. The settlement that developed around the lake was named Lagos de Três Cantos, Three Corner's Lake.
