In 2016, the flag was changed so that the English name was also changed to "S.SINAI GOVERNORATE" and the color of the laurel wreath was changed to green, while the colors in the coat of arms were retained.

First Flag

The first, white flag shows a symbol with the outline map of the Sinai Peninsula, the landmass represented by a white center in yellow and red rays. Above the coat of arms-like symbol the name of the governorate in Arabic and in English: "Governorate of South Sinai", around it a black laurel wreath.

The symbol from the first flag became the coat of arms of the governorate in 2014. The rays are shown here in two different light shades of yellow, each separated by a thin white ray. The English signature was changed to “S. SINAI GOVERNORATE ”, the laurel wreath is now green.
