Description of the flag

A new flag has replaced the previous flag (below).

This new logo appears on the Facebook page in 2010: https://www.facebook.com/City-of-Farmington-Hills-Michigan-Municipal-Government-135124389844199/photos/a.149130828443555/136221126401192

I learned of this flag from a Flickr album of the 2013 conference of the Michigan Municipal league: https://www.flickr.com/photos/michigancommunities/9812300565/

Farmington Hills is in a transition to a new City logo. The City seal was adopted when Farmington Hills officially became a City in 1973. The seal incorporated the motto "Farmington Hills, Michigan - City of Tradition and Progress." The logo that is featured on our flag against a dark green background was adopted in 2003, as part of the City's 30th birthday celebration. The new city logo, developed in 2008, provides an updated look and features two intersecting lines that represent the plural "hills." The typeface highlights the City's emphasis on high-tech industries and attracting new businesses to the area. The new bolder green and black hues present a more contemporary look and underscore the City's commitment to "green" initiatives.
