Description of the flag

The flag was designed by Marc Nelson for Brighton Township. His design was adopted as the official flag by the township board. The three background colors represent the school districts of Brighton Township: orange for Brighton, blue for Hartland and green for Howell. The Celtic design represents Irish farmers who first settled Brighton Township. The four-leaf clover represents the 4-H ideals of head, heart, hands and health. The white border represents unity within the township.
