Ridgely unfurls new flag for 150th anniversary
May 17, 2017

The town of Ridgely celebrated its 150th anniversary Saturday, May 13, with a flag raising ceremony on Founder’s Day. In the 150 years since the Maryland and Baltimore Land Association established the town, Ridgely never had a town flag until 2017. The town held a contest in 2016 for a flag. Yolanda Meyers won the flag designing contest, and her design incorporated many elements of Ridgely’s history such as the town colors, with the “Dream City” banner and train number 513 in honor of Founder’s Day.
