Flag

Located in Chofu City Tokyo and established in 1965. The embroidered ceremonial flag has blue background with a gold shield-shaped emblem at the canton and horizontal gold kanji university name in gold fringe. The second and third quarters of the shield depict the school's emblem, the lily; the first and fourth quarters depict the sword symbolizing St. Paul, the open Bible, and the Chartres Cathedral, the center of the congregation, from the 1951 emblem of the Society of St. Paul of Chartres, the mother organization that founded the Shirayuri School; the lily emblem is also placed in the center of the shield. The emblem is common to all Shirayuri schools nationwide. The white lily flower is the symbol of the Virgin Mary and the holy mark on the flag of Saint Jeanne d'Arc. The school emblem shows a gentle and pure atmosphere, but at the same time symbolizes a dignified and true woman.
