Located in Natori City Miyagi Prefecture and established in 2003. The embroidered ceremonial flag has blue background with a silver emblem in gold fringe. The university emblem was adopted in 1902, the tenth anniversary of the school's founding. The motif was the plum flower. Plum blossoms, which bloom after surviving the harsh cold and eventually release a fragrance, symbolize the spirit of study, as described in Chinese folklore. The university emblem, which has been handed down to the present day, was designed with the Chinese character "Shokei" (絅) inside the character "Sho" (尚), which resembles the shape of a plum flower, finding commonality in the plum flower with the founding spirit of the university. After World War II, when the junior college was established, the school emblem with the character "大學" on the left shoulder was added.
