Description

Regional Council of Sha'ar HaNegev (meaning Gate of the Negev) is situated between Ashqelon and Be'er Sheva and governs 13 settlements including Shikmim (meaning sycamores) Ranch, home of prime minister Ariel Sharon. 6,000 inh. Est. 1950. The desk flag of the Regional Council is bi-color white-blue, and there could be changes when it is used as a hoisted flag. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), 'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut HaPirsumim), YP 968, 25 October 1962.

The flag is indeed blue and white but in reverse colors from the desk flag with blue on top. Photo at <www.sng.org.il>.
The Regional Council govern the communities of: Or HaNer, Erez, Bror Hayyil, Gevim, Dorot, Kefar Azza, Nahal Oz, Mefalsim, Nir Am, Ru'hama, Yekhini, Shikmim Ranch, Ibim Students Village and Sapir Education and Community Campus.
