Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure and Argent, scales Purpure balanced by a flamy sword Gules, in chief a lyre Azure stringes Sable, flanked by two corn cobs Or leaved Vert. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "RECARDÃES"
Meaning:
The sword with scales is an attribute of St. Michael, the local patron saint.
