About the Flag

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of purple and white.

The arms are Argent a tanner's knife Sable behandled Or set in pale between two heraldic fountains in chief and five figs Purpure in base set per orle. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "ÁGUA REVÉS E CRASTO".
Meaning:
As the name suggests this commune was created by the merger of two previously separated communes , by this merger happened before the great 2013 changes, and seems to have had affected no flags. The word "įgua", part of the name of one of the villages, means "water" and the fountains of the arms are canting for it.
