Coat of arms

Shield Vert with base wavy of Argent and Azure; issuant from base a throughout bridge Argent, masoned sable, and having three arches; in chief a gridiron Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "SELHO - S. LOURENÇO - GUIMARÃES".
Meaning:
The gridiron is an attribute of St. Lawrence, local patron saint and name giver of the commune.

Coat of arms

Shield Sable, in chief a pair of keys crossed per saltire, the bendy one Argent, the other one Or; in base a mattock's blade at dexter and a cogwheel at sinister, both Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "GOMINHÃES - GUIMARÃES"
Meaning:
The crossed keys are an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint.
