Coat of Arms

[COA of Hægebostad] image by Tomislav Šipek, 12 January 2016

Blazon: På raud grunn to gull sverd med oddane ned. Gules two swords or, points to the base.
Approved by the royal resolution of 4 April 1986 afdter a drawing by John Digernes. [c2j87]
The two swords symbolically stand for the two swords dating from the 4th-6th century that were found in the municipality, known as the Snartemo sword and the Eiken sword. The coat of arms do not copy the exact shape of the old swords found in the graves, but a more stylized heraldic design.
