Overview

On my recent trip to South Korea, we were driving through the Gangnam District (Gangnam-gu, 강남구) of Seoul. At yet another clustered display of flags, I saw the South Korean national flag, the flag of Seoul, and the flag of Gangnam District all displayed together.
The flag of Gangnam District features the district logo in blue on a white field. The logo itself is composed of a blue oval stretching from upper right to lower left, with the stylized Hangul characters ㄱ (kiyeok, making the g sound) and ㄴ (nieun, making the n sound), countercharged, overlapping the blue oval and the white field. Those two characters are the first characters in the two syllables of the district's name. Below the oval symbol is the word "Gangnam-gu" written in blue Hangul script.

District also use flags in two more variants.
