He served under Toyotomi Hideyoshi and was granted 70,000 goku of land in Kanayama, Mino Province. Later, he served under Tokugawa Ieyasu and he was successful in the Battle of Sekigahara, and his land was increased to 186,000 goku in Tsuyama, Mimasaka Province. The war banner has white background with a ten of brush scripts in black. The family emblem of the Mori is ten of brush strokes on a circle. The circle was removed and used as the flag emblem.
