Background

Moyen-Ogooué Province is named after the Ogooué River. It covers an area of 18,535km² and has 70.000 inhabitants.  The provincial capital is Lambaréné, which known for the world-renowned hospital founded there in 1913 by the Franco-German Nobel Peace Prize winner, Albert Schweitzer (1875–1965).
Moyen-Ogooué is divided into 2 departments:
Abanga-Bigne (Ndjole)
Ogooue et les Lacs (Lambaréné).

Description of the flag

The provincial flag, as seen during the 2016 inauguration of the President of Gabon, is white with the provincial coat-of-arms occupying 4/5 of the height in the centre.

The azure wavy fess symbolizes the river Ogooué and the three besants represent the lakes of the region. Elephant are present in the area.
