Presentation of Arcones

The municipality of Arcones (243 inhabitants in 2009; 3,175 ha) is located in the east of Segovia Province, on the border with the Madrid Autonomous Community, 40 km from Segovia.

Symbols of Arcones

The flag and arms of Arcones are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 23 February 2001 by the Municipal Council, signed on 27 February 2001 by the Mayor, and published on 10 May 2001 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 90, p. 7,220 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Quadrangular flag, with proportions 1:1, with a vertical stripe of 1/4 of the flag's side placed along the hoist, the rest of the flag green. In the middle of the flag is placed the municipal coat of arms of Arcones.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Vert two funerary chests [arcones] argent per pale, 2a. Or a juniper vert terraced of the same, 2b. Gules an ewe argent, a bordure of 16 pieces, eight or and eight vair. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown or.
