The flag and arms of Vista Gaścha are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 28 promulgated on 25 July 1989.

Article 2.
The shield of the coat of arms is surmounted by a fortified citadel, shaped like a crown, masoned in black on a white background, symbolizing political and administrative independence.

Article 3.
The Portuguese shield has a green and light blue field, charged in the center with a sun and in base with a hoe and a basic plow on brown strips that recall furrows in plowed land.

Article 4.
The sun projecting its rays towards infinity represents the emergence of a new municipality irradiating power, a characteristic of its territory and people.

Article 5.
The basic plow and the hoe evoke the work of all of those who contributed to the building of a municipality dedicated to agriculture and all the income resulting from primary production.

Article 6.
The shield is surrounded by a red border outlined in black and charged with two golden yellow stars in the upper angles.

Article 7.
The red border symbolizes the people's fighting and working spirit, while the two stars represent the two districts forming the geopolitical and productive territory.

Article 8.
Beneath the shield is placed a scroll inscribed in black "VISTA GAŚCHA - 09.05.88".

Article 9.
The scroll shall be green, red and yellow, in ascending order, recalling the Riograndense colors and symbolizing the insertion of the municipality in the territory of the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Article 10.
Light blue in the shield's field is a reference to the firmament free of polluting clouds, while green is a reference to the vegetation covering the municipality and crops.

Article 11.
The plow and the hoe shall be white, outlined in black.

Article 12.
The flag is white, charged in the center with the coat of arms. White evokes the pacific nature of people, who, however, struggle and work for progress.
