About the Flag of Monte Alegre

The flag is a horizontal tricolor of dark green-yellow-red, middle stripe slightly wider. In the upper stripe is a small canton, about 80% height of the green stripe, colored blue  with a rising white diagonal stripe, three white stars below, and one gold star above. In the yellow stripe is the municipal arms.

The municipal web page records that the flag has historical and symbolic similarities to that of the state capital, Campo Grande, was designed by Amintes Nunes de Moura on 7 September 1975 and adopted on 4 of February of 1991 by Mayor Municipal Euripedes Lima Andreani by Decree 2275 of 4 February of that year. In the upper left corner of the flag is an emblem that resembled the flag of Mato Grosso do Sul.
