Flag of Posušje - Image by Željko Heimer, 25 June 2011
The symbols of Posušje (document, p. 12) are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi općine Posušje, adopted on 14 August 1995 by the Municipal Council and published in the Municipal official gazette Službeni glasnik Općine Posušje.
The symbols were designed by the late Bruno Bago, an academic painter born in Posušje (Populari database).
The flag (photo) is prescribed in Article 9 of the Municipal Statutes as follows:
The flag of Posušje is composed of three colours: red, white and blue, the edges between them being of oval shape. In the centre of the flag is the outline of the church in Posušje coloured white. The silhouette of the church emerges from the white field and ends in the red field. The top left corner of the flag is composed of a modified Croatian coat of arms. The red and white fields of this coat of arms are of different sizes and are increasing from the top left corner towards lower right corner.
The ratio of the width to length of the flag is 1:2.
