The New York State Trooper Foundation offers this flag in its online catalog (stores.homestead.com/nystfoundation/-strse-225/3027-dsh-NEW-YORK-STATE-POLICE/Detail.bok). It is listed as New York State Police Flag, but no details are given as to its history or official status.
The foundation is a not for profit organization established to help support the activities of the New York State Police (aka State Troopers).
The flag offered for sale bears a Trooper emblem on a purple field. The emblem consists of the New York State Arms on a
dark panel (either very dark blue, or possibly black). The panel is curved on top and straight on the sides and bottom. The words NEW YORK are in an arc above the arms, and STATE POLICE are in a straight line below the arms. All letters are in white and in an upper case, sans serif font.
