Municipal flags in Schoharie County:

On June 17th, I visited the Old Stone Fort Museum in Schoharie, New York, where I was sent after visiting the main Schoharie County office building. After speaking with Mr. Carle Kopecky, the director of the museum, I found that,
surprisingly, Schoharie County has no flag! As far as I know thus far, it is the only county in New York State that does not have a flag. It does, however, have a seal, which was adopted in 1842 after a state constitutional amendment
incorporated separate, smaller counties into present-day Schoharie County, though this seal is not the present-day seal. It is unknown when or why the Board of Supervisors changed the County seal.

Yesterday morning, on the 13th, I visited the Schoharie County Office
Building on 284 Main St. in Schoharie, New York to take a civil service exam.
This was held on the 3rd floor in the Board of Supervisors room. I noticed what
appeared to be a county flag behind the main desk. I inquired about this, and
indeed, it was! Despite what I was told at the Old Stone Fort Museum by Mr.
Carle Kopecky in mid-2014, there is indeed a flag of Schoharie County, New York!
Whether or not it was adopted before or after I visited the Old Stone Fort
Museum is another question entirely; one available for investigation by a soul
braver than I.
